The program includes twelve weeks (270 hours) of classroom instruction, field trips and hands on demonstrations. Topics include: how to identify, plant and maintain trees, shrubs, flowers and turf, landscape design, pest management, equipment use and maintenance. Leaders in the Monroe County Green Industry teach many of the courses. Classes meet Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the RLTP Offices, 16 Edmonds Street. Class size is limited to 30 students. Early application is encouraged as we often have a waiting list.
The Landscape Certificate Program also offers intensive job readiness and life skills training, resume services, job referrals and career counseling for those in need of such services.
