About Rochester Landscape Technicians Program

All program goals are to:
Prepare participants for employment through real work experience, job readiness skills development  and classroom instruction.
Encourage participants to continue their education and further develop their work skills.
Build participants' self esteem, and encourage patterns of responsible behavior.
Provide area employers with a source of dependable, work-ready employees.
Enhance Greater Rochester through community beautification projects conducted by program participants.

Many programs are assisted by local parks departments, extension services, and professional associations within the green industry. Funding is provided by foundations, corporations, government grants, religious organizations, individuals, and through earned revenue from our social enterprise - RLTP Landscaping.

Results:

RLTP Landscape/Horticulture Certification Program:
has graduated 320 men and women and achieved
a better that 85% job placement rate
a $8.25 per hour average starting wage
an 82% job retention rate
numerous "landscape beautification" projects throughout Monroe County, including; Habitat for Humanity homes, Flower City Kids Garden, Ronald Mc Donald House, Susan B. Anthony Park, Granite Mills Commons, Webster Avenue Beautification, Clinton/Clifford Avenue Garden Project and Wilson Commencement Park.
